Zacky Vengeance is the rhythm guitarist and a founder member of the hardcore metal band Avenged Sevenfold, and is from Huntington Beach California. Zacky Vengeance, real name Zachary James Baker, he born in 1981 in Huntington Beach California. He started learning the guitar aged thirteen after getting a guitar for his birthday. He is a left-hander and plays left handed – he switched the strings around on his first guitar, a right-handed model. His first band Mad Porn Action was unsuccessful, Zacky Vengeance formed his next band Avenged Sevenfold in 1999 along with singer M Shadows and drummer James Sullivan known as The Rev. All band members were still at high school at this time. The band released their first album in 1999 “Sounding the Seventh Trumpet” while still at high school and have gone on to release further albums and achieve success in the world of New Wave American heavy metal.

The band takes its name from a bible reference and was suggested by Zacky Vengeance from the story of Cain and Abel. The exact American bible quotation is “If Cain is avenged sevenfold, Then Lamech seventy-sevenfold” The band uses many bible references –including the Book of Revelations and Adam and Eve but the band are not religious. Zacky Vengeance also came up with the band abbreviation A7X. Zacky Vengeance plays rhythm guitar and also contributes baking vocals. He uses Schechter guitars and has endorsed the company who have produced a range of “ZV “models. He owns many custom guitars including the ZV special that he designed himself. Before he signed the deal with Schechter, Zacky Vengeance played a left-handed Gibson SG.

Synyster Gates bergabung di band Avenged Sevenfold di tahun 2001, setelah mengeluarkan album Sounding The Seventh Trumpet. Synyster Gates merupakan lead gitaris dari Avenged Sevenfold. Idealismenya untuk tetap memainkan lead gitar yang cukup ngeshredd dan menampilkan teknik-teknik arpeggio seperti Cacophony atau Iron Maiden. Bahkan di internet juga banyak beredar video bootleg Synyster yang sedang bermain solo gitar.
